JULIE DICKSON, BRADON FOREST
HEADTEACHER, ANNOUNCES
RETIREMENT
Julie Dickson, Headteacher at Bradon Forest
School is retiring in August. She was appointed
in January 2019 having previously been Deputy
Headteacher since 2013. Julie has been an
excellent Headteacher over her time in post; she
has driven clear improvements in the school in
standards, the quality of the school buildings,
and in pastoral systems. She has restructured
the leadership team and appointed two strong
external Assistant Headteachers. She has led the
creation of the shared sixth form provision and of
course she has led the school through the COVID
pandemic. During the current crisis, Julie’s
resilience and positivity, has ensured that staff,
students and parents know they are safe, valued
and cared for.
Julie’s career prior to Headship was focused on
pastoral leadership and her passionate advocacy
of the well-being of students and staff has been a
defining feature of her leadership.
Tim Gilson says “Julie has been a wonderful
colleague to work with at a Trust level. She is
always seeking to enable collaboration and she is
generous in her support of other Headteachers. I
