EDEXCEL MATHS EXAM MARKING TRAINING

According to Confederation of School Trusts, Feedback from staff was full of praise:
the Ofqual consultation on awarding and  “Thanks for a really useful session
assessing in 2021 has received more ahead of the mocks, moderation and
responses than any that Ofqual has previously analysis.”

 “All thoroughly enjoyed it and found it
With the possibility that teachers will be very useful”.
marking exams, it was timely that Mel  “A collaborative and excellent session”
Muldowney from Edexcel was recently asked
to deliver online GCSE exam marking training All schools have access to the training

The session was thought provoking with
teachers being put on the spot to live mark Emma-Jane O’Neill, Lead Practitioner
questions from the June 2019 exam series. across the Athelstan Trust
This was very handy as most schools were
using this series for their mocks and supported
follow up collaboration in the subsequent
         Heads of Faculty meeting.

Mel used her wealth of experience to share top
tips for preparing Year 11 for their exams,
looking at the most frequently occurring topics,
especially those that are more process driven,
         such as the quadratic formula.

We also looked at where students are most
able to pick up marks on AO3 problem solving
questions and method selection for teaching
topics such as compound measures to get
students over the next grade boundary.
