Malmesbury School
Headteacher’s Welcome
I hope you will find the time to learn about our school from our website.
It has been a real privilege for me to have been appointed as Malmesbury School’s new Headteacher. The school’s vision to be a happy, caring and excellent community really resonated with me with me when I first arrived, and I am committed to keep this at the forefront of everything we do. Our school community is focused on providing an education of the highest quality, a huge range of enrichment opportunities, student leadership programmes and, perhaps most importantly, a focus on the wellbeing of our students alongside academic excellence.
Malmesbury School has been described by parents as a “wonderful school” that “nurtures, cares and educates the children”. Ofsted described the quality of teaching as “remarkably high because of high expectations of leaders and teachers of themselves”.
Our aims are further supported by our status as a National Teaching School; we take a lead role in the professional development of teachers and support staff and work with other schools to contribute to the raising of standards.
There is no better way of judging a school than making a visit on a normal school day and we are always very happy to welcome visitors. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Bradon Forest School
Headteacher’s Welcome
Bradon Forest School is set in the rural village of Purton, surrounded by stunning Wiltshire countryside. This gives us the perfect backdrop to focus on providing an excellent all-round education as well as nurturing students’ individual talents and strengths.
We have been educating young people for over 50 years and are committed to developing highly successful, fully rounded individuals ready to take their place in the world. We continue to update and develop our site following the construction of our new state of the art sports hall in 2016, adding a new food and textiles block in the spring of 2018. Our mix of modern and traditional learning environments gives our school a unique, individual feel that is welcomed by students and parents alike.
At Bradon Forest School, we provide a friendly, caring, creative and purposeful environment in which your son or daughter can feel supported. They will be encouraged to take every opportunity given to them both academically and in extra-curricular activities. We strive to develop confident young adults who show both respect and resilience and who have high aspirations for their futures.

Abbeyfield School
Headteacher’s Welcome
As Headteacher of Abbeyfield School, it is with great pride and enthusiasm that I extend a warm welcome to you.
At Abbeyfield, we are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our focus is on creating an environment rich with opportunities and support, allowing all pupils to thrive and achieve their personal best.
We firmly believe that academic success is built on a foundation of high-quality teaching and a broad, engaging curriculum. However, we also recognise that education extends beyond the classroom. At Abbeyfield, we place significant emphasis on the development of character, cultivating the core values of Resilience, Respect, and Responsibility. These principles form the bedrock of our ethos, ensuring that our pupils are well-equipped to navigate the challenges of modern life with confidence and integrity.
Despite our growing popularity, Abbeyfield remains the smallest of the three secondary schools in Chippenham, allowing us to be true to our tag line “Big enough to make a difference yet small enough to know each child”.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our vibrant and supportive community.

Leighterton Primary School
Headteacher’s Welcome
As a small, happy, village school, all staff have a personal knowledge of every child, and there is a real family atmosphere. Our experienced and dedicated teams provide the highest standard of education and our school offers a rich and diverse curriculum. We pride ourselves on providing creative learning experiences which challenge and engage pupils.
Many children attending our school come from families who have a long association with us, some as pupils themselves. Our links with the Leighterton community and beyond enrich our children’s lives in many ways.
We recognise that everyone is special, and our curriculum is shaped by a philosophy that encourages everyone to flourish, both academically and personally.
We are all committed to doing our very best to make your child’s time at our school as happy and productive as possible, ensuring that their primary years are a time of developing self-confidence, enquiring minds and learning the skills for their future. They are the first steps in a child’s journey through the world of learning.
In addition to developing language, mathematical, scientific and technological skills, children are encouraged to build confidence, develop self-reliance, learn to make decisions and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas.
We attach great importance to the development of children’s social skills in their relationships with each other and adults, encouraging them to be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. We have high expectations of ourselves at Leighterton, and are proud of the exacting standards we achieve.

King’s Lodge School
Headteacher’s Welcome
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to King’s Lodge School – a truly special place to be. Our school is nestled in the heart of a vibrant housing estate, yet it carries the warmth and familiarity of a village community.
Many of our pupils follow in the footsteps of their parents who once walked these same corridors, and that sense of continuity and belonging is something we cherish deeply. At King’s Lodge, we pride ourselves on knowing every child as an individual. We understand the ups and downs that shape their lives.
We build our entire school experience around three simple but powerful words: Kindness, Learning, and Success (KLS). These values are not just part of our curriculum – they are the threads that weave through everything we do.
While we follow the National Curriculum, we bring it to life through a local lens. Our children explore the river and town in geography and learn about key historical figures with local significance in history. We believe that when children can see their own lives reflected in their learning, it becomes more meaningful and memorable.
Our connections with the wider community are strong and purposeful. We work closely with local schools, including Abbeyfield and Charter; we share our talents in singing, dancing and reading with residents of a nearby care home; and throughout the year, we welcome parents and grandparents into school to celebrate our learning together.
King’s Lodge School is where kindness and respect foster quality learning for a lifetime of success – and I am incredibly proud to be part of it.
Warm regards,
Kim Spencer, Headteacher
