Malmesbury School

Headteacher’s Welcome

I hope you will find the time to learn about our school from our website.

It has been a real privilege for me to have been appointed as Malmesbury School’s new Headteacher. The school’s vision to be a happy, caring and excellent community really resonated with me with me when I first arrived, and I am committed to keep this at the forefront of everything we do. Our school community is focused on providing an education of the highest quality, a huge range of enrichment opportunities, student leadership programmes and, perhaps most importantly, a focus on the wellbeing of our students alongside academic excellence.

Malmesbury School has been described by parents as a “wonderful school” that “nurtures, cares and educates the children”. Ofsted described the quality of teaching as “remarkably high because of high expectations of leaders and teachers of themselves”.

Our aims are further supported by our status as a National Teaching School; we take a lead role in the professional development of teachers and support staff and work with other schools to contribute to the raising of standards.

There is no better way of judging a school than making a visit on a normal school day and we are always very happy to welcome visitors. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Bradon Forest School

Headteacher’s Welcome

Bradon Forest School is set in the rural village of Purton, surrounded by stunning Wiltshire countryside. This gives us the perfect backdrop to focus on providing an excellent all-round education as well as nurturing students’ individual talents and strengths.

We have been educating young people for over 50 years and are committed to developing highly successful, fully rounded individuals ready to take their place in the world. We continue to update and develop our site following the construction of our new state of the art sports hall in 2016, adding a new food and textiles block in the spring of 2018. Our mix of modern and traditional learning environments gives our school a unique, individual feel that is welcomed by students and parents alike.

At Bradon Forest School, we provide a friendly, caring, creative and purposeful environment in which your son or daughter can feel supported. They will be encouraged to take every opportunity given to them both academically and in extra-curricular activities. We strive to develop confident young adults who show both respect and resilience and who have high aspirations for their futures.

Headteacher’s Welcome

As the Head Teacher of The Dean Academy, I am delighted to welcome you to our academy and to provide a vision and opportunities for us to work together to meet the needs of your child, inspire a love of learning and pave the way for a successful future.

The Dean Academy will extend your child’s world through an appropriate balance of academic, artistic, sporting and cultural experiences. Our focus on relentless school improvement will ensure that your child’s progress is closely monitored to ensure that s/he is successful, challenged, engaged and, most important of all, enjoys the whole learning experience.

The academy provides a caring, supportive environment, ensuring that your child is happy and safe and able to make the most of the exciting opportunities on offer to 16 and beyond. The curriculum has been developed to enable every child to develop leadership and team building skills, to grow in self-confidence and develop self-esteem.

Ultimately, our aim is to watch each child grow into a successful, confident and articulate young adult, equipped for life beyond secondary education and with a desire to understand the world around them that will never diminish.

We would welcome the opportunity to show you our academy, to discuss the changes that are being introduced and to work with you to fulfil our shared ambitions for your child.

Chipping Sodbury School

Headteacher’s Welcome

I warmly welcome you to Chipping Sodbury School. We are an ambitious and forward thinking school with a culture and ethos embedded in our four core values of respect, integrity, responsibility and aspiration. We aim to inspire our young people to achieve high standards in all aspects of life. Effort and a positive attitude to learning are qualities we strive to nurture.

We are ambitious for all our young people and recognise each individual is unique and has particular strengths and talents.  All students should feel successfully engaged in their learning and have an entitlement to learn in a safe, stimulating, inclusive environment supported by highly committed and motivated staff.  The school community is determined that students achieve their potential and are fully equipped for adult life.

Standards of behaviour are very high and our excellent student support structure enables us to get to know each individual.  We enjoy strong partnerships with our parents/carers and our local primary schools.  By working together, we can support each individual student and enable them to thrive.

As a parent and Headteacher, I appreciate that making the right choice of secondary school is a crucial decision.  To visit our school is to experience a warm, enthusiastic and engaged community; you are welcome to do so at any time.

Leigherton Primary School

Headteacher’s Welcome

As a small, happy, village school, all staff have a personal knowledge of every child, and there is a real family atmosphere. Our experienced and dedicated teams provide the highest standard of education and our school offers a rich and diverse curriculum. We pride ourselves on providing creative learning experiences which challenge and engage pupils.

Many children attending our school come from families who have a long association with us, some as pupils themselves. Our links with the Leighterton community and beyond enrich our children’s lives in many ways.

We recognise that everyone is special, and our curriculum is shaped by a philosophy that encourages everyone to flourish, both academically and personally.

We are all committed to doing our very best to make your child’s time at our school as happy and productive as possible, ensuring that their primary years are a time of developing self-confidence, enquiring minds and learning the skills for their future. They are the first steps in a child’s journey through the world of learning.
In addition to developing language, mathematical, scientific and technological skills, children are encouraged to build confidence, develop self-reliance, learn to make decisions and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas.
We attach great importance to the development of children’s social skills in their relationships with each other and adults, encouraging them to be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. We have high expectations of ourselves at Leighterton, and are proud of the exacting standards we achieve.
